The Potential Impacts of Climate Change on the Wildlife of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area

When:

Location: Malanda Hotel

Professor Stephen Williams of James Cook University will give a presentation on his extensive research in the Wet Tropics which has allowed him to understand the potential impacts of climate change on a wide range of species. By modelling the predicted outcomes against habitat requirements, Dr. Williams has been able to identify our wildlife that is most at risk from climate change and also identify why different species are at risk. This talk will consider different scenarios and the way rising temperatures and other changes to our climate will most likely threaten the survival of some of our most significant species. Come join Tree-kangaroo and Mammal Group and Birdlife Australia-Northern Queensland Branch for this fascinating and timely talk. Be sure to mark your calendars and join us for what promises to be an informative, thought-provoking and interesting talk.
